About

Engineering Leader | Digital Transformation & AI Strategy · Eindhoven, Netherlands

I'm Eonio — an engineering leader focused on one thing: closing the gap between what AI can do today and what enterprise organisations are actually doing with it. My work sits at the intersection of deep technical practice and business strategy, translating cutting-edge AI capability into durable engineering value.

The journey

Over 23 years ago I wrote my first line of C++ and started a path that went further than I expected. I founded MobRadio and GoMobie, built and shipped products from zero, and learned what it actually takes to scale engineering organisations under real pressure. Along the way I served as a Professor of Game Development, taught software design to the next generation, and then turned to enterprise — where the complexity is different but the need for clear thinking is the same.

At enterprise scale I cut cloud infrastructure costs by 60% through architectural redesign, pioneered enterprise GenAI adoption before it became a boardroom buzzword, and am currently at ASML — the company that makes the machines that build the chips that run the world — leading AI Integration and CI/CD automation using autonomous agents across the engineering pipeline.

How I think about software now

The role of a software engineer is being redefined. The bottleneck is no longer typing speed or syntax recall — it's the quality of decisions upstream: the architecture, the specification, the intent. I believe the next generation of high-performance engineering teams will be defined by how well they automate the mechanical and amplify the strategic.

  • Spec-driven development — write proposals, designs, and formal specifications before any code is generated; both humans and AI work from the same source of truth.
  • Autonomous agents — AI agents as first-class engineering contributors, executing tasks from specs, validating decisions against requirements, and closing loops without manual intervention.
  • Cloud architecture with intent — systems designed for traceability, cost-efficiency, and resilience, not just delivery velocity.
  • Scaling human potential — the goal is never to replace engineers; it's to remove everything that prevents them from doing their best work.

Beyond the code

Discipline off the screen sharpens focus on it. I'm a competitive IPSC shooter — a sport where precision, composure under pressure, and rapid decision-making aren't metaphors, they're scored. I build and tinker with DIY electronics, which keeps me honest about how hardware and software actually meet. I'm learning Dutch (Eindhoven is home now), working toward an Executive MBA, and trying to be a present father while doing all of the above.
